The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency of Sierra Leone (NDLEA-SL) is the primary law enforcement body responsible for tackling drug abuse and illicit drug trafficking in the country. It functions under the Ministry of Internal Affairs and has recently become a key pillar in national security efforts against narcotics.
The agency is a key component of the National Taskforce on Drugs and Substance Abuse, working alongside the Sierra Leone Police (SLP), the military, and the National Public Health Agency. It follows a strategic master plan for 2023-2028 to modernize its operations and meet international obligations.
